At Mahoney, we like to find ways to have fun and spread some cheer. Here is a little information about each of our Teams as well as some jokes!
Our Assurance Solutions Team is made of approximately 30 team members. We have a large concentration of clients in the real estate and nonprofit industries. We also work with small businesses and employee benefit plans. We perform audits, reviews, compilations and agreed upon procedures.
Our Business Solutions Team is made up of 14 team members. We serve closely held business enterprises and not-for-profit organizations with their outsourced accounting needs. Our Business Solutions Team has a passion for delivering timely financial information and key performance indicators that help our clients better understand and lead their businesses/organizations. This team leverages the use of technology in order to maximize efficiency in entry of transactions, allowing them to focus on high value review and consulting opportunities for their clients. They often partner with our Tax Solutions Team prior to estimated tax deadlines, using the up to date financial information to take advantage of tax planning opportunities, revising projections and lessening the risk of surprises in April.
Our Real Estate Solutions Team is made up of approximately 10 team members. Since the low-income housing tax credit was enacted as part of the Tax Reform Act of 1986, Mahoney has worked as a trusted advisor to developers in the affordable housing industry. We help find innovative solutions for complicated transactions and assist our clients through the intricacies of their transaction. Mahoney helps many organizations work through the complex tax, regulatory, investment, and compliance issues necessary to successfully complete their projects. Mahoney specializes in supporting owners and developers through various real estate transactions, providing guidance and transactional support for HUD, MHFA, Tax Increment Financing (TIF), Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits (HTC), Renewable Energy Tax Credits (RETC), Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing (NOAH) and Opportunity Zones, among other programs. In 2021, Mahoney added a separate consulting division, Mahoney Development Services, LLC (MDS) to further expand services to our clients.
Our Tax Solutions Team is made up of approximately 10 team members. We provide comprehensive tax services to businesses, individuals, estates, and trusts. Our team is ready to assist you in achieving your current and future financial goals.
Our Operations Team is made up of approximately 8 team members. They are integral to our success and help us daily to achieve our goals and our client’s goals. They are awesome!
This past busy season we had 7 interns and this summer we have 3 more interns. An internship is a great way to learn more about public accounting. Our interns are fully integrated into our work processes and gain valuable experience in the business world. We have a history of hiring many of our interns to continue as full-time employees. Some of our partners started out as interns!
