A couple years ago, our firm formed a NextGen Committee. This committee is comprised of our newest team members at the associate and senior associate levels and has representatives from each of our departments.
The NextGen Committee was formed so we could infuse new ideas into the firm from the younger generations. In addition, at times firm leadership brings topics or ideas to this committee before final decisions are made that affect the firm. It has been a collaboration that has helped all of us see different viewpoints and perspectives, which makes the firm better. Some of the initiatives that have come out of the Next Gen Committee include making our lunchroom more earth friendly by getting rid of disposable products and replacing them with reusable silverware and plates. They also help with our Buddies Program for our interns, and they are currently running a Mahoney photo contest.
One of the most recent ideas has been clubs set up to increase engagement between our team members as we have more people working remotely. The Next Gen Committee began the clubs by first sending out an interest survey with over 15 club ideas. After a vote, the six most popular clubs were formed.
These are the Pickleball Club, Foodie/Lunch Club, Wine Club, Cornhole Club, Running/Walking Club, and Trivia Club. Each club has a team captain. Where, when and how often each club meets is up to its members. So far, the clubs have been a hit! Here are a couple pictures from recent meetings of the Pickleball and Wine Club.
Thank you to the NextGen Committee for their great ideas!
